We are seeking a Clinical Applications/Business Development Specialist to support patient treatments by installing, testing and calibrating ultrasound equipment as well as training users to utilize equipment in a safe manner. This dual role will also develop physician relationships and educate physicians on the technology.
Essential Functions:
· Install new ultrasound equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating and testing performance.
· Educate and instruct physicians and other staff members on proper use of ultrasound equipment and identification of anatomy and vital structure recognition.
· Maintain ultrasound equipment by completing preventative maintenance schedules, conducting tests, following manufacturers instructions and calling for special service.
· Evaluate ultrasound equipment performance by studying machine-patient interction by conferring with equipment users and collaborating with equipment manufacturers.
· Maintain ultrasound equipment suplies inventory.
· Travel to international treatment locations and provide engineering services. Services will be provided on weekends as well as weekdays. Daily work hours during treatments may exceed 12 hours.
· Complete understanding of pricing structures, and various professional fee models.
· Demonstrates the ability to carry on a business conversation with physicians and key decision makers.
· Develop a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face-to-face cold calling on physicians, direct mail, email and networking.
· Assist in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed.
Qualifications:
· Certification or degree as a radiology technician or ultrasonographer or related field (Biomedical Engineering preferred) and 2 years of experience in a related position.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Electrical Engineer (Systems)
We are seeking a Electrical Engineer for our Focus Surgery, Inc. (FSI) location in Indianapolis to be responsible for the design, fabrication, test, and documentation of electrical systems for product development. Focus Surgery, Inc. is a subsidiary of US HIFU and is a leader in the development of cutting edge medical devices utilizing High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) for the treatment of cancer.
Job Responsiblities Include:
· Electronics design
· Circuit stimulation, layout, and build/test/debug
· Software development/interfacing
· Prototype building and testing (including clinical settings)
· Design documentation (BOM, engineering change requests, schematics, layout, supplier information, user manuals, test specifications and procedures, etc.)
· Help maintain company's parts inventory, interface with manufacturing at partner sites, assist in current research projects, and work together with technical, engineering, and research staff as needed
Position Qualifications:
· BSEE or similar degree is required, a Masters of Engineering is preferred
· Minimum of 3 years experience in electrical engineering or siimilar technical field required
· Proven capability to work ith little or no supervision; self-starting and motivated
· Ultrasound and EE systems experience required
· Biomedical experience/ background desired
Senior Research Scientist
We are seeking a Senior Research Scientist for our Focus Surgery, Inc. (FSI) location in Indianapolis to be responsible for all aspects of Research and Design (R&D) related activities for transducer, system design and tissue testing studies. Focus Surgery, Inc. is a subsidiary of US HIFU and is a leader in the development of cutting edge medical devices utilizing High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) for the treatment of cancer.
Job Responsiblities Include:
· Transducer design including specifications, simulations and testing after fabrication
· HIFU interactions with biological tissues (experimental and analytical)
· System design including interfacing of system and transducer, beam forming, imaging devices specifications and tissue characterization
· Overall assistance to FSI staff to improve quality, performance and profitability
· Help in testing and characterization of HIFU system
Position Qualifications:
· PhD required
· 7 years of experience in Medical Ultrasound Research
· Excellent hands on skills with ultrasound equipment and computer knowledge
· Capable of conducting lab experiments, performing simulations required for acoustics and transducer design
· Publication experience desired
