Stephen R. Puckett, Sr. - Chairman
US HIFU is led by well-known health care veteran entrepreneur, Stephen Puckett, Sr., who serves as active day-to-day chairman. In addition to co-founding US HIFU, Mr. Puckett was also a founder of MedCath, a company that owns and operates specialty heart hospitals throughout the U.S, and served as its chairman and CEO from 1988-2000. Mr. Puckett is also a founder of Bariatric Partners, a company that focuses on bariatric surgery provided in ambulatory surgery centers. He is on the board of Partners Imaging, a company that provides CT imaging services to cardiology, ENT and urology practices throughout the United States. He also serves as Chairman of LV Realty, a realty development company that develops planned communities in the Southeastern U.S. Early in his career, Mr. Puckett held senior management positions at the University of Alabama Hospital and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Hospital Authority in Charlotte, NC. Mr. Puckett was named Entrepreneur of the Year for North Carolina in 1996.

tin Surgical Hospital where he was responsible for physician investment syndication for neurosurgeons, neurologists, orthopedic surgeons and pain management/anesthesiologists. He also aided in the founding of Hospital Partners of America. Mr. Puckett serves on the Board of Directors for Speed Trac Inc., a technology and logistic services company that is streamlining processes in the trucking industry. He is also a board member of International Celebration Association which is a non-profit organization that performs charitable work and faith-based initiatives in the Caribbean and South America. He attended Vanderbilt University and was a Witherspoon Fellow.
George M. Suarez, MD - Co-Founder & Medical Director Emeritus
Dr. Suarez, co-founder of US HIFU and medical director emeritus, is a board-certified urologist in private practice in Miami, Florida and former faculty member of the University of Miami department of Urology. Dr Suarez completed his training in general surgery at Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois, and his urology residency and fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, Louisiana. He has received numerous awards including the S.E.S American Urology Association prestigious Montague Boyd award for excellence in research. He is an active member of numerous medical societies including the Societe Internationale D’Urologie, the European Urology Association, the New York Academy of Sciences and the American Urologic Association. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Naren Sanghvi - Chief Scientific Officer
Mr. Sanghvi is the co-founder of Focus Surgery, Inc. and a pioneer in the field of high intensity focused ultrasound technology. He has served as an Indiana University School of Medicine Associate Professor and Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics. Mr. Sanghvi holds 16 patents in systems, transducer design and process and several pending patents.
Mark Schoenberg, MD - Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Schoenberg is an expert in the area of urologic oncology who has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and has 15 years of experience as a clinical investigator. Dr. Schoenberg assists the company in its current effort to complete critical clinical trials with the Sonablate® 500 technology in the treatment of patients with prostate cancer. Additionally, he will spearhead a scholarly effort to critically evaluate current clinical experiences with HIFU therapy in collaboration with the Sonablate® International HIFU Registry. Dr. Schoenberg has an active clinical practice and serves as a professor of urology at The Johns Hopkins University.
Adam G. Lowe - VP, Scientific Affairs & Device Operations
Mr. Lowe has over 20 years of experience in medical devices. He most recently was vice president and chief operating officer for Oncologix Tech, Inc., a publicly traded medical device company. Currently and previous to Oncologix, he is a principal in NeoMedica, LLC and Isonett, LLC, consulting groups that specialize in executive level medical device (NeoMedica) and radiation medical device (Isonett) consulting for clients that include early stage ventures dealing with Class I, II, and III medical devices involving cardiovascular, ophthalmology, orthopedics, oncology and electrophysiology. Prior to that, from 1999, he was employed by the Novoste Corporation (a publicly traded medical device company) as a corporate officer in the areas of quality assurance, regulatory affairs and operations dealing with Class III vascular brachytherapy devices. Before his employment by Novoste, he was employed by C.R. Bard, Inc. and Johnson & Johnson in the area of quality and design assurance, with his last position being that of vice president, quality. He holds a BS degree in materials science and engineering from North Carolina State University.
Jim Bobbitt - VP, Corporate Services
Mr. Bobbitt joined US HIFU in January of 2009 and is currently responsible for directing physician development, marketing and nursing operations. He brings 18 years of experience in the medical device industry, beginning his career with Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a division of Johnson & Johnson, Inc., where he held numerous sales and management positions in his 10 years there. His other experience includes vice president of sales for Ortheon Medical, as well as an area sales director position with Intuitive Surgical. Prior to joining US HIFU he was area sales director for Surg Rx, Inc., a start-up medical device manufacturer of minimally invasive vessel sealing technology. That company was successfully sold to Ethicon Endo-Surgery in December of 2008. He holds a degree in finance from the University of Central Florida.
John Linn - VP, Finance
John W. Linn is vice president of finance at US HIFU and has a background in investment banking and business advisory services. Prior to joining US HIFU, Linn was a vice president at DecisionPoint International, a boutique merger and acquisition (M&A) advisory firm serving both public and private middle-market companies. Prior to joining DecisionPoint, Linn worked in the investment banking group at BB&T Capital Markets, executing M&A, public and private equity offerings, fairness opinions and valuations. Linn is Series 7 and 63 licensed and received a BSBA, with a concentration in finance and accounting, from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Alex Gonzalez - VP, International Operations
Alex Gonzalez is vice president of international operations for US HIFU and he is responsible for international regulatory affairs, personnel and equipment logistics, international facility agreements and Latin American physician development. Mr. Gonzalez is a graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston where he completed a BS in health care science and a master's degree in physical therapy. After completing clinical affiliations at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas and Methodist Medical Center in Houston, he joined Thomason General Hospital, where he became the director of outpatient physical therapy services.
